From your first prenatal visit to your last overnight shift, we're in your corner — with birth support, postpartum care, overnight rest, and practical family education.
Birth Support
Continuous emotional, physical, and informational support from late pregnancy through labor and delivery, however long your birth takes.
Postpartum & Night Owls
Daytime support and overnight care from our Night Owls team, newborn care, feeding guidance, recovery, and actual sleep during the most vulnerable weeks.
Classes & Preparation
Practical, evidence-informed education that helps families prepare for labor, newborn care, feeding, recovery, and the transition home.
Insurance & Getting Started
We're credentialed and contracted directly with Medi-Cal, Kaiser, IEHP, Health Net, and more. We handle all billing, eligible families may have $0 out-of-pocket costs.

SoCal Doulas was built on one belief: that every family in Southern California should have access to a doula who truly shows up for them. We're a fully managed doula agency led by a Licensed Midwife and Maternity Wellness Support Specialist, and we're proud to serve families from all walks of life across Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles counties.

SoCal Doulas was founded by Tanya Chessman and Ifeanyi Kerri-Walker, a team that brings together clinical expertise and maternity health knowledge to support Southern California families in a way that most doula agencies simply can't.
Tanya is a Licensed Midwife (LM, CPM), Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, and ProDoula trainer who has been supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum since 2019. Ifeanyi brings a background in maternity health that strengthens the systems, support, and care families receive from the moment they reach out to the moment their support ends.
Together they built SoCal Doulas around one belief: that every family deserves access to professional, compassionate doula care, and that understanding available benefits can help more families explore their care options.

How It Works
Getting Started Is Simple
We know that navigating pregnancy support can feel overwhelming, especially when you're not sure what you qualify for or where to even begin. That's why we made the process as easy as possible. Most families are surprised by how straightforward it is, and even more surprised by how much their insurance actually covers.
Verify Your Benefits
Fill out our free insurance verification form. We check your plan directly and let you know what's covered, no commitment required. Most benefits are verified within one to three business days, and we'll reach out as soon as we have your information.
Start a Doula Conversation
Tell us about your location, preferences, and family. We coordinate a personal introduction, discuss availability, and help you decide whether the connection feels right.
We Handle the Rest
We explain your care agreement, schedule, communication, and billing arrangement. For employer benefits such as Carrot, we discuss the documentation you may need to submit.
Timing depends on your plan and local availability. We'll explain your next steps and help you make a care plan that fits your family.
